| OnDemand
Accelerator Program |
 |
 |
|
Our
OnDemand
Accelerator Program is a five step
program that encompasses business, technology
and marketing perspectives. It is designed to
rapidly take your software application from
concept, to development, to market, and beyond.
It is a complete end-to-end solution for
entrepreneurs and companies who want
comprehensive support in the development and
execution of their OnDemand and SaaS businesses.
Each step in the program builds on the other to
help build, launch and accelerate your online
business growth. Each step in the program is
defined below : |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Step 1: Business &
Technology Gap Analysis
Conducting a Business and Technology Gap
Analysis is the first step in the OnDemand
Accelerator program. In this step, we will
work closely with you to determine 'where
you are now' versus 'where you want to
be'. The resulting Gap Analysis is an
objective and experienced assessment of
the business, marketing and technology
gaps that you will need to address in
order to profitably launch or migrate to
the OnDemand and "Software as a
Service" (SaaS) delivery model.
The Gap Analysis process works as
follows: |
 |
Two senior level
members of our team lead and facilitate
discovery sessions during a 2-3 day on
site visit. |
|
|
 |
The discovery
sessions encompass business, marketing
and technology discussions and are
conducted with key stakeholders in the
client organization. We ask the
questions, facilitate the discussion,
uncover the issues and extract the
relevant information. |
|
|
 |
Following the
visit, we analyze the data, ask
follow-up questions and produce a
Business and Technology Gap Analysis
Report. This report is either delivered
by phone or in person so that we can
discuss our findings and recommendations
with you. |
|
|
The outcome of the Gap
Analysis is vital input for management
decision-making. By using the industry
knowledge and experience of our experts,
you will be able to: |
 |
Consider all
aspects of planning and delivering a
world class OnDemand and SaaS offering
(including those that might otherwise
have slipped under your radar). |
|
|
 |
Identify how near
(or far away) you are to reaching your
goals and objectives. |
|
|
 |
Validate your
concept and plans. |
|
|
 |
Prioritize areas
requiring attention and focus and
identify those areas where external
support may be required. |
|
|
 |
Compare your
methodologies and approach to best in
class SaaS applications. |
|
|
 |
Determine next
steps. |

Step 2: Strategy and
Planning
The second step in the OnDemand
Accelerator program involves setting a
direction and creating action plans to
address the business, marketing and
technology gaps identified in Step 1.
This process provides
the essential building blocks for
building, launching and growing your
OnDemand or "Software as a Service"
(SaaS) business and will help to ensure
that you are successful, profitable,
scaleable and sustainable.
The planning phase follows 3 tracks:
|
 |
Technology
Road Map
The Technology Road Map encompasses
design considerations, technologies and
services (that may be bought versus
built) and strategies for overcoming the
identified technology gaps and hurdles
on the road to a successful SaaS
delivery model. |
|
|
 |
Business
Action Plan
The Business Action Plan sets concrete
goals, responsibilities and deadlines to
guide business development. It also
outlines the recommended steps and
strategies for helping to keep costs on
track, ensuring a return on investment
and meeting growth expectations in
customer base and profitability. |
|
|
 |
Marketing and
Sales Strategy
The Marketing and Sales Strategy
clearly defines your target markets,
marketing objectives, sales goals,
pricing strategies and programs for
satisfying customer needs through a
careful balance of product, price and
promotion. |
|
Why do we think this
step is so important?
Without a good planning process, clients
can increase the application's
time-to-market or open the way for a
software rewrite somewhere in the future.
This is not only a poor technology
strategy, but also a dangerous business
strategy. At OnDemand Solutions, our team
of experts will help you avoid costly
mistakes by: |
 |
Setting concrete
goals, responsibilities and deadlines. |
|
|
 |
Defining and
prioritizing application features,
functionality and overall scope. |
|
|
 |
Building on your
strengths and opportunities |
|
|
 |
Creating messaging
and value propositions that resonate
with your prospective customers. |

|
|
Step 3: Detailed
Application Design
The third step in the OnDemand
Accelerator program involves four key
elements: |
 |
Capturing the
business and functional requirements for
your OnDemand or "Software as a
Service" (SaaS) application based
on the feature prioritization and
application scope determined in Step 2.
|
|
|
 |
Mapping and
translating the business and functional
requirements into technical
specifications that also incorporate the
design considerations, technologies and
services decisions identified in Step 2.
|
|
|
 |
Developing a
detailed project plan encompassing known
deadlines, realistic timeframes, clearly
defined milestones and required
resources. This project plan will be
used in Step 4 to guide application
development, track progress and manage
expectations. |
|
|
 |
Providing a clear
and detailed quote for costs that will
be incurred during the application
development phase. |
|
The requirements
definition process works as follows: |
 |
An experienced
analyst facilitates a series of
interactive sessions to explore and
discuss the requirements. |
|
|
 |
Documentation of
the requirements (most commonly in the
form of use cases) is an iterative
process that continues until you are
satisfied that your business and
functional needs are fully and
accurately documented. |
|
|
 |
You may also
choose to involve marketing to obtain
validation of the business and technical
specifications from an end-user
perspective. |
|
|
|
|
|
Step 4: Software
Development
The fourth step in the OnDemand
Accelerator program includes development,
testing and launch of your OnDemand or "Software
as a Service" (SaaS) application. The
development philosophies that guide our
work in this step are as follows:
|
 |
Team Work
You may choose to work with your in
house development team or our highly
experienced local, near shore or
offshore partners. Whatever your
preference, we ensure that the
development team is focused, specialized
and that the work is completed on time
and within budget. |
|
|
 |
Be Realistic
and Flexible
Throughout the development process, we
ensure the development team is flexible
and able to accommodate unexpected
refinements and adjustments. All
functionality, even when thoroughly
planned and documented, is subject to
revisions during the roll out phase. We
make sure that time is allocated to
eliminate development delays. |
|
|
 |
Test With
Real-Life Examples
When your software goes live, it must
be ready for immediate customer use. We
ensure that testing and input from
actual users begins early in the
development process. We rely on this
input throughout development to deliver
a user-concentric and reliable
application. |
|
|
 |
Project
Management and Effective Communication
Throughout the development phase, we
track progress and keep you fully
involved and up-to-date on status and
any issues that may arise. |

|
|
Step 5: Delivery and
Customer Support
Now that your OnDemand and "Software
as a Service" (SaaS) application is
live, the delivery and customer support
strategy and plans (that were developed in
Step 2) can be put into action. We always
stay involved throughout the process in
order to ensure a smooth transition to the
hosting and managed care provider of your
choice.
This transition of your application to
your hosting partner may also take place
earlier in the OnDemand Accelerator
program (that is, in Step 4 during
software development) since many hosting
companies provide test environments and
encourage their clients to move to the new
environment sooner as opposed to later.
This enables you to learn the process and
obtain the benefits of their hosting
services prior to "going live"
with your application.
